Why is there an outage every Sunday?
|
|
While the majority of our data is dynamic and displayed in realtime,
all of the code in our webserver is held in memory so that
we can deliver pages very quickly. This code includes drop down boxes
for locations and services as well as the data statistics on our
front page. We "bounce" the webserver every Sunday to update these
static parts of our site.

What do you mean by the Local Wide Web?
|
|
The World Wide Web is very effective at reaching people everywhere. Other
than media or consumer applications it is necessary to focus on the market
niche required. The Canadian tourism industry has many small suppliers located
in many obscure places. Rural Room Finder communicates this
local information across the WORLD WIDE WEB to create the Local Wide Web, local
information to help you plan your travel.

Where can I get your printed directory?
|
|
Rural Room Finder does not print directories or CD's. Since we are a complete inventory
management system our data cannot be easily accessed in printed form. Furthermore, since
one of our main features is distance calculations we would have to print a different
directory for every city and town.

|
|
Why should I use you when I have to pay and your competitors are free?
|
|
Because we save you time and money. No-one else can provide you a list of
accommodation ordered by distance, no-one else tells you how good the data is
saving you time on the phone.

Why don't you provide maps?
|
|
While electronic maps can be very useful in heavily populated areas
they leave much to be desired in remote regions. Rather than provide
information which may cause lost time, excessive mileage and may even
been dangerous we have chosen not to implement this feature. We are
considering a mapping interface to our city, town and village data,
until then here are some mapping links.
